Honey Cookies
So for Mutal next Saturday our Young Men And Young Women Group are going on a mini trek since Pioneer Day's coming up. The Beehives are supposed to bring a pioneer treat. At first I was like, what does that mean? Then I thought well they didn't have a lot of sugar but they had honey!! So I looked through my ever-overflowing recipe book and found my favorite Honey Cookies! It was perfect! So I decided to share this yummy recipe with you all:
Honey Cookies
1/2 cup honey
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups shortning
2 cups sugar
Mix, then add the following ingredients:
4 cups flour 3 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
Roll into balls and dip in sugar. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes. When light brown and still puffy take out of oven and let cool slightly on the pan. Enjoy and Happy Pioneer Day!!!!!

Watermelon Cupcakes
Okay so here's another cupcake recipe. I found the picture on this website so all rights reserved: http://www.allthingscupcake.com/2011/07/12/watermelon-cupcakes/ which is really cute by the way. you should check it out! So here's what you do:

-you make one white cake mix and make cupcakes. Mix a few drops of red food coloring and 2 cups chocolate chips in the batter. Bake as directed on the box.
-First let the cupcakes cool. Make green. frosting, pink frosting, and white frosting, using this recipe. Make three different batches if possible. if not just divide the frosting equally into 3 parts on the color them.
Icing Recipe
-1/4 cup softened butter
-1 1/2- 3 TBsp. milk
-2 1/2 powdered sugar (confectioners sugar)
-desired food coloring
Directions: Mix everything in a medium bowl and ad a few drops of food coloring. Frost the cupcakes and sprinkle on chocolate sprinkles for seeds or use chocolate chips. enjoy this yummy and easy summer treat!!!!
